This is part of the Asia, Pacific and Africa Collections (known as APAC) held at the British Library in the UK. Family History Search is a section of the British Library website which is very useful as a starting point to seach for individuals in the records. Families in British India Society (FIBIS)Families in British India Society (FIBIS) has a searchable database of over half a million names and has many links to useful resources. ShippingThe Immigrant Ship Transcribers Guild contains a wealth of information, especially passenger lists for numerous ships which carried immigrants, especially to the New World and Australia. Lloyd's Register of Shipping has a selection of useful leaflets about sources for mercantile shipping worldwide. They also offer a paid historical research service. Lloyd's Captains Registers are held at the Guildhall Library in London, but some indexes have been digitised and are online. |
